Welcome to my website. I am an economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, DC. As an economist at the Federal Reserve Board, I have been part of a number of high impact projects including evaluating how monetary policy affects credit supply at banks, assessing the effects of capital and liquidity regulation on bank and non-bank financial institutions, designing and evaluating bank stress-test scenarios and models, and developing guidelines for access to the federal payment system.
My academic research interests have in part been influenced by my public service and policy work and fall into the broad fields of Banking, Finance, Industrial Organization, and Monetary Economics. On a personal note, I am married with one kid. I like biking, running, and hiking mountains. I also practice the martial art of Aikido and hold shodan in Iwama-ryu style with Aikido of Arlington dojo under Yvonne Thelwell Shihan. I am originally from Bulgaria and have a dual American and Bulgarian citizenship. I was raised as Orthodox Christian but practice Stoicism. My current non-work interests also include developments in the science of longevity and artificial intelligence.
